Alan Jackson's Unforgettable Farewell: What Happened at His Finale Concert?

Alan Jackson's Unforgettable Farewell: What Happened at His Finale Concert?

The time has come for country music superstar Alan Jackson to hang up his signature Stetson hat.The genre traditionalist from Newnan, Georgia, whose career kicked off in the 1980s and exploded shortly thereafter in the oft-cited ‘90s country wave with heartfelt songs for the working man who’d rather be drinking, or fishing, or ideally both, has sold over 60 million records across his storied career. And on Saturday night at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, he brought his touring career to an end.The event titled “Last Call: One More for the Road — The Finale” was a triumphant swan song for the performer, a celebration of his life and career with some help from the artists he directly inspired.Alan Jackson performs during his farewell concert at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tenn., on June 27, 2026. AP Photo/John AmisNashville’s all-stars came out in drovesIt was a concert in two movements. The first two hours were made up of a marathon run of Jackson covers from some of the biggest names in contemporary country. And each performer had a personal story to share.Carrie Underwood sang “Everything I Love” after revealing that Jackson was her first ever concert, in 1994 at the Tulsa State Fair.Thomas Rhett warmed up the crowd with “Small Town Southern Man,” an appropriate choice for a singer currently living the song’s lyrics — he’s a father to four girls.Alan Jackson performs to a sold-out crowd in Nashville, Tenn., on June 27, 2026. AP Photo/John AmisThe Texas-born and bred Miranda Lambert performed “Dallas.” Lainey Wilson got the crowd moving with “Tall, Tall Trees.”“It’s almost impossible to pick a favorite Alan Jackson song … but I had to try,” said Luke Combs before launching into “Hard Hat and a Hammer.”Each performer played with Jackson’s backing band, save for Eric Church, who opted to cover “Someday” with just his voice and an acoustic guitar. It was an All-Star night for one of country music’s most colossal voices. Other guest performers included Luke Bryan, Riley Green, Cody Johnson, Little Big Town, Jake Owen, Jon Pardi, Lee Ann Womack and a slew of super talented members of Jackson’s own family: Adam Wright, Big City Brian Wright and Carlisle Wright.Five years ago, the 67-year-old music giant Jackson shared that he has a degenerative nerve condition that affects his balance called Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease, which he was first diagnosed with a decade prior.Carrie Underwood attends Alan Jackson Last Call: One More for the Road – The Finale on June 27, 2026. USA TODAY Network via Reuters ConnectA night to rememberThe Country Music Hall of Famer ran through his best-known hits with real ferocity: “I Don’t Even Know Your Name” arrived quickly, as did “Livin’ on Love,” “Summertime Blues” and the moody “Midnight in Montgomery,” as the music videos for each played on a giant screen behind them.He made it a point to walk from side to side of the stage, greeting each section while championing his band and the power of “real country music.”“If anyone has lived the American dream,” he said later, while seated on a stool, “It’s me.”Anecdotes flowed from there. He talked about writing “I’d Love You All Over Again” for his wife on their 10th wedding anniversary and how the radio from “Chasin’ that Neon Rainbow” is currently in the Country Music Hall of Fame museum. And he mentioned that “Drive (For Daddy Gene” was written after his father died.During the concert, Jackson made it a point to walk from side to side of the stage, greeting each section while championing his band and the power of “real country music.” AP Photo/John AmisThe singer appeared stiff as he walked to his microphone, but once he picked up his guitar for the opener “Gone Country,” he was immediately back in action. Out emerged George Strait for their collaborations “Designated Drink” and “Murder on Music Row.”Then came an incredible run of hits: “Little Bitty,” “Country Boy,” “Good Time” and “Where Were You (When the World Stopped Turning)” among them, the latter written and recorded following the Sept. 11 terror attacks.Blockbuster singles followed: “Don’t Rock the Jukebox,” “Remember When,” and “It’s Five O’Clock Somewhere,” the latter recording famously featuring the late “Margaritaville” singer Jimmy Buffett.Fireworks were launched into the sky for “Chattahoochee.”Alan Jackson’s story continuesJust because this is the end of Jackson’s touring career doesn’t mean it is the end of his music career. On Thursday, two days before the final concert blowout, Jackson released a country cover of Orleans’ “Still the One,” to celebrate his 50-year relationship with wife and high school sweetheart Denise Jackson. She was a cheerleader practicing a dance routine to the soft rock classic; he was instantly smitten. For those who missed Jackson’s final bow, the show will be released later in the year as an NBC concert special. But for those who were in the stadium — in the middle of a huge storm — it was an unrepeatable and unmistakable night.

Will & Grace Cast's Emotional Reunion: What Happened?

Will & Grace Cast's Emotional Reunion: What Happened?

Legendary TV director Jimmy Burrows brought the cast of Will & Grace together one last time. “Sadly, we all saw each other a few days ago because of Jimmy Burrows’ funeral,” Eric McCormack, who famously played Will Truman on the hit TV series for the entirety of its 11-season run, exclusively told Us Weekly on Saturday, June 28, while walking the Project Angel Food red carpet in Hollywood. “I hadn’t seen Debra [Messing] in years, and it is always great to see her,” McCormack, 63, continued. “I saw Sean Hayes. Not so great for the reason, but Jimmy always brought us together on that stage every week, and he brought us together again.” Burrows died in his sleep on June 19 after a brief illness. He was 85. “Jimmy was the greatest comedic television director in the history of the medium,” Burrows’ longtime agent Rick Rosen said in a statement to Deadline shortly after the Cheers creator’s death. “He directed the most iconic, defining shows of generations. Always a gentleman, it was an absolute honor to represent him.” During his career, Burrows won 11 Emmys and worked on successful comedies, including Taxi, Friends, Frasier, Two and a Half Men, Will & Grace and The Big Bang Theory. “James Burrows was a legend. An icon. A singular talent and revolutionary in television,” Messing, 57, who portrayed the titular Grace Adler on the beloved sitcom, wrote via Instagram on June 19 in honor of the TV director. “To me he was Jimmy. To my son, he was Papa Jimmy.” She continued, “I can’t express the pain of his loss, and I know that is true for everyone who was lucky enough to be loved by him. Jimmy changed my life 28 years ago and has been in my life ever since. He had a dry sense of humor but exploded in laughter when he orchestrated comic moments that landed. I wanted his laughs most of all.” When asked to recall a favorite memory of Burrows, McCormack told Us there are simply too many to count. “Oh, too many to quote and in print it wouldn’t look so good because you’d have to do the Jimmy Burrows voice,” McCormack told Us on Saturday. “But my favorite was when I asked him if he thought maybe we’d get a second season. He looked at me and said, ‘Jesus Christ, McCormack. Buy a house.’” The actor added, “He did [believe in us]. He knew.” As for what his character, Will, would be doing today, McCormack said he’d be volunteering for worthwhile causes like Project Angel Food, a nonprofit organization that delivers medically-tailored meals to those fighting serious and life-threatening illnesses. “He’d probably be volunteering here, honestly,” McCormack imagined. “I think he’s still a New York guy. He’d still be there, raising his son.” He continued, “This is an organization that we all kind of hoped wouldn’t be necessary after a few years. But then they realized there was so much more good they could do beyond its initial mandate of feeding people with HIV/AIDs. Now, they’re feeding so many people — 3,000 a day — with so many different medical conditions, tailoring meals to their individual needs. It’s been an amazing growth.”

Holly Madison's Bold Confession: The Surgery Decision That Changed Everything

Holly Madison shared that she’s had a lower facelift — and divulged a list of other cosmetic procedures she’s had done — in candid new comments. “I’ve had a lower facelift on my jawline,” the Playboy alum told host Dr. Shelia Farhang during Wednesday’s episode of the “Derm Approved” podcast, adding, “I’m really happy I got it done.” “I just felt like after having kids, you know, I gained a lot of weight with my second pregnancy,” the model went on, referencing her two children Rainbow, 13, and Forest, 9, whom she shares with ex-husband Pasquale Rotella. She added while gesturing near her jawline, “And there was just nothing I could do,” including “lasers or anything that could really do what I wanted it to do. So the model “found somebody whose before-and-afters I really loved.” Madison, 46, also noted that she didn’t want to go “too far” with the procedure and kept the work to a minimum. Holly Madison shared during a recent episode of the “Derm Approved” podcast, as seen above, that she had a lower facelift. Dr. Sheila Derm/YouTube“I’m really happy I got it done,” she divulged during the episode, which dropped Wednesday. Dr. Sheila Derm/YouTube“I’d rather have it not go far enough and then I can go back and maybe do more rather than have it go too far, and I’m looking like the Joker,” she quipped. The “Girls Next Door” alum also shared that “If you look close, you can totally see” her visible scars in front of her ears, but added that she doesn’t care. “I’m kind of open about it,” she said, noting that she’d already discussed it on her podcast. Madison shared that other cosmetic procedures she has include CO2 laser for underneath her eyes, IPL laser, and Botox. Madison, seen above in February, called a hand rejuvenation she’d had done a “waste of money.” Getty ImagesThe Playboy alum, seen here earlier this month, has also admitted to Botox and IPL laser treatments. In past interviews, the TV personality, pictured here this month, has shared that she suffered from body dysmorphia in the past. Karl Larsen / BACKGRIDMadison, seen above in 2010, said she “was always kind of wondering what’s wrong with me,” during her Playboy mansion days. Back in 2023, she confessed she struggled with “body dysmorphia” amid the pressures of life at the famous mansion, telling People at the time that living there “created a body dysmorphia for me because I was always kind of wondering what’s wrong with me.” She exclusively told Page Six earlier this month that she initially saw living there “as a safe harbor,” but later discovered it “to be so much more complicated than that.”

Jennifer Lopez's Emotional Graduation Surprise: What Has Her in Tears?

Jennifer Lopez's Emotional Graduation Surprise: What Has Her in Tears?

Jennifer Lopez was a very proud mom as she shared a behind-the-scenes look at her twins Max and Emme’s high school graduation. “They say I’m lucky, I don’t disagree…Just this feeling,” Lopez, 56, wrote on Saturday, June 27, alongside an Instagram carousel of recent events in her life. The photos include the twins celebrating being part of the class of 2026, as well as other personal milestones, like commemorating the release of her new comedy Office Romance on Netflix with a box of cupcakes and chowing down on what might be the world’s largest croissant. Lopez has often reflected on the prospect of becoming an empty nester over the past few months, now that the twins will be off to two different colleges in the fall. Earlier this month, Lopez told Extra that both Max and Emme had overcome adversity on their way to graduating high school. (Lopez shares the twins with ex-husband Marc Anthony, whom she was married to from 2004 to 2014.) The “On the Floor” singer noted that the twins’ academic accomplishments have been particularly inspiring because they have ADHD, which means they “learn differently and there were struggles at times.” “I’m so proud that they set goals for themselves. They all got into all five colleges that they applied to. Each one got a scholarship to a school,” Lopez said. “And I just felt like they worked so hard. I watched how hard they worked — from the time that they were like, you know, when school gets serious in the fifth grade — they just worked hard, worked hard.” She went on, “I’m just so proud of them because they did what they said they were going to do. They are good people. They are loving, good hearted people. And they always said that. I would say to them, ‘What do I say?’ They say, ‘Doesn’t matter if we get good grades so long as we are good people.’ I was like, ‘That is right.’ And they still sometimes will quote that back to me. So I’m very, very proud of both of them.” During a May appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Jennifer said she’d been “crying for two months” over the prospect of the twins going to college. She confirmed that, much like in high school, Max and Emme chose to go to two different universities. “It’s fine. I want them to be happy, go where they want to go, and do what they want to do,” she said. As for becoming an empty nester, Lopez acknowledged on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen on June 8 that it had been an “emotional time.” “It’s been the three of us,” she reminisced. “People have come in and out of my life, but it’s been the three of us. They’ve always been there, and I’ve always been there.” Lopez admitted that, until recently, she “never really thought” about the prospect of her twins moving out. “I just never thought that far ahead,” she confessed to host Andy Cohen. “I thought, too, that they’re so independent — I gave them roots and wings. [I thought], ‘It’s great, this is how it is … this is a healthy mom thing to do.’ And then about a couple of months ago, I just was, like, writing something for their end-of-the-school-year thing for them to put in the program at the graduation, and I just have not … every time it comes up, I just start crying. I could cry right now.”

It also may cause trouble walking, and loss of feeling in the legs and feet.”Jackson was originally diagnosed in 2011, but kept his diagnosis hidden for a decade before he publicly told his story.
